If it just has a few insignificant errors here and there I'll keep going but I don't want to fill my head with 'knowledge' that isn't true. How innacurarte is Mother Tongue really? Are the people crisicising it nit picking or is it basically just a book of made up nonsense? I was really enjoying the book but I'm reluctant to continue now. There are plenty of rave reviews, but there are also a significant number accusing the book of being wildly innacurarte. This prompted me to check out some reviews of the book on Goodreads and Amazon. About 30 pages in I stumbled upon the statement that Eskimo's have 50 words for snow a claim that even with my extremely limited knowledge of the subject, I recognised as a misnomer. I started reading this book recently and was finding it both fascinating and entertaining. I'll have a look into the alternatives you guys have suggested. I won't waste any more time on Mother Tongue. Edit: Thank you so much for the thoughtful advice and recommendations everyone.
